In this episode, Ezri Dax returned to Deep Space Nine.  Much of the crew had difficulty accepting her, especially Worf.  During this episode, Ezri is called upon to council Garak, who was suffering from claustrophobic attacks.  It was up to Ezri to find Garak's problem, she discovered that Garak's father locked him into closets as a punishment when he was young.  Confident that she solved Garak's problem, Ezri and Bashir discovered him attempting to get out of an airlock into space.  When spending time in a holosuite failed to help Garak, Ezri returned to try again.  This time to find a much different and angry Garak, he stated that she did not deserve to be joined with the Dax symbiont.  After hearing this, Ezri gave he resignation to Captain Sisko, who agreed the she was not worthy of the Dax symbiont.  However, when she stopped by Garak's shop before leaving Deep Space Nine, she discovered that Garak's real problem was he did not wish to betray his race.  In the end Ezri discovered that Sisko never sent her resignation in and never meant what he had said to her (about not being worthy of the Dax symbiont).
This episode was an good introduction of the Ezri Dax character.  It did a good job of portraying how the Deep Space Nine crew would react to Ezri.  I enjoyed this episode.

I found this episode to be enjoyable, the writers did a very good job of introducing the character, Ezri Dax.  Her interactions with the crew of Deep Space Nine were well written.

Anthony's Rating: 8.2
I rather liked this episode.  I thought the way Nicole deBoer's character, Ezri, was introduced was well done.  I did not like this whole thing with Garak and his mass claustrophobia though.  But I suppose they needed someone for Ezri to counsel and he was it.

I have to say that the initiation of a character this late on into a series is very tough to do in one episode.  However, with this character, there is an exception.  This was an ok episode that integrated Ezri Dax into her environment nicely.  The reason I gave it a lower score is because I thought that the situation with Worf should have been handled differently.
