In this episode the crew was sent on a mission to deliver supplies to AR-558, a Dominion communications relay(occupied by Federation forces).  When they arrived, they found out that the crew manning AR-558 had lost about two thirds of their forces in the five months they had been there.  To make matters worse, the Dominion were using mines that hid in subspace exploding at random.  But things changed when the Jem'Hadar attacked.  In the end the crew was successful, but not without their losses.  The two characters that the crew had been working close together died in the end :'(.  I found this episode to be quiet enjoyable and had character development and change for several of the characters:
Nog - lost his leg and there may be some surgical complications down the road.
Ezri - Her first(not including the symbiont) time on the front and in battle.  As she said, having the memories of being in battle and actually being there are different.
There was some nice interaction between the characters.  Sisko's and Quark's argument about sending Nog on a dangerous mission was good.  Further pushed along when Nog returns wounded.  Ezri and the engineer she was working with, Kellin, was good, and then in the end he died when saving her life.  Bashir's idea of playing one of Vic Fontaine's songs before battle was great and helped set the mood.  The end of the episode was sad and depressing(but that helps make it good, the fact that you would care about what happened so much).
