Benjamin Lafayette Sisko was born on 2332 in New Orleans, Earth.  His birth was set up by the prophets of Bajor.  Benjamin wouldn't know this though until a long time after joining Starfleet.
    In 2350 he attended Starfleet Academy and four years later graduated in 2354.  That same year he married Jennifer Sisko.  One year later in 2355 he had a son which he named Jake.
    Sisko was later assigned to the U.S.S. Livingston as a lieutenant under Captain Leyton.  He was then promoted to lieutenant commander and became the first officer of the U.S.S. Okinawa.  He would later be assigned as first officer on the U.S.S. Saratoga.
    In 2367, while he was on the Saratoga, a Borg Cube invaded the Alpha Quadrant and headed straight for Earth.  Forty or so ships were mustered for defense.  One of those ships was the Saratoga.  After the battle at Wolf 359 was joined, the Earth forces were decimated and Sisko was one of few survivors.  He lost his wife, but was able to escape with his son Jake.  He was later assigned to Utopia Planetia shipyards to help develop the Defiant Class starship, but this idea was mothballed.
    In 2369 he discovered the Bajorn wormhole and it's builders, the prophets.  He was also promoted to Commander and assigned commanding officer of Deep Space Nine.
    In 2370 he made first contact with the Jem'Hadar and Dominion in the Gamma Quadrant.  Relations between the Federation and Dominion became hostile and soon they were on the verge of war.  So, in 2371 Sisko's Defiant entered production and he was given command of the prototype.  He was also promoted to Captain.
    Because of the fear of a Changeling invasion of Earth, Sisko was temporarily assigned as Chief of Starfleet Security on Earth in 2372.
    Sisko also postponed the admission of Bajor to the Federation in 2373.  Later war broke out between the Federation and Dominion and Deep Space Nine was captured.  Sisko was then assigned as a joint fleet commander and later recaptured Deep Space Nine.
