| In this episode, Bashir's genetically enhanced
friends came to the station so that Bashir could help one of them with
processing information. Her genetical enhancements had a severe side
effect which prevented her from processing information correctly.
As a result she sat around all the time doing nothing but staring into
oblivion. With help from the other "mutants", Bashir was able to
develop a way to save her. But when he fell in love with her after
the success of the surgery, it brought out serious implications which nearly
caused her to return to her previous state. She was not ready for
the speed in which things were happening. In the end, she left the
station to start a new life for herself.
This episode was fairly interesting, but not too much more than that. I did not enjoy it very much and it contributed nothing to the plot. Perhaps if this had not been the last season of Deep Space Nine then this would be a welcome Doctor Bashir character builder. Reviewed by: Andrew Luby
