In this episode, Voyager was traveling through a
section of space where transporting telepaths was illegal. Voyager
found a crew of telepaths aboard a freighter and agreed to transport them
through the section of space. Voyager's crew already had several
telepaths aboard (Vulcan and Betazoid). However Janeway was not expecting
the number of inspections the aliens would do on Voyager. Each time
they outgunned Voyager beamed to all decks and searched the ship for telepaths.
The crew of Voyager managed to hide the telepaths in transporter stasis.
However returning to transporters stasis so many times began to prove a
threat to the telepath's health. The alien inspector, after requesting
asylum from Janeway, offers to assist Voyager in finding the location of
the transport that would smuggle the telepaths through a wormhole.
However in the end the inspector tricked Janeway and used her to find the
location of the wormhole. Suspecting this, Janeway lied about the
wormhole's location and was successful in smuggling the telepaths through
the wormhole. Fearing for their careers and lives the inspector and
his men pretended that the incident never happened and let Voyager go.
I enjoyed this episode. For the first time
we saw the shuttlebay's interior. It's small! I don't see how
the Delta Flyer fits in there:) This episode's plot line was fairly
good. I knew that the inspector was lying all along, but in the end
I was still surprised to see him betray Janeway. I actually started
to trust him! I was glad to see that Janeway didn't trust him and
lied about the wormhole's location. I was a little disappointed to
see Voyager loose two shuttlecraft. I was surprised to see Janeway
give away two of her shuttles to aliens, she's always so protective of
Federation technology. I imagine, however, that Voyager manufactures
more shuttles because in the course of the series, they have lost many
shuttlecraft.
