| In this episode, during a transporter accident,
Seven of Nine's nanoprobes were fused with the Doctor's mobile emitter.
As a result a new Borg drone was formed. It was a merge of Borg technology
and the 29th century origin of the Doctor's mobile emitter. Janeway
decided to raise the Borg drone on Voyager, but she had to be careful not
to allow the Collective to assimilate this technology. She entrusted
Seven of Nine to raise the Borg, teach it human qualities, and prevent
communication with the Borg Collective. In the end, the Borg drone
died saving Voyager from a Borg sphere.
This episode had a lot of development for Seven of Nine's character, she was finally human enough to teach a Borg human values. I enjoyed this episode and in the end I was sad to see the drone die, but it was best that way because he was right - the Borg would not stop looking for him. Review by: Andrew Luby
