| In this episode, Tom Paris, Tuvok, and the
doctor were on a shuttle mission when their craft was sucked into an anomaly
and they crashed on the surface of a barren desert planet. There
they found many other survivors of crashes. Everyone on the planet
stole from everyone else in an attempt to stay alive. But when Tuvok
saved the life of one of the crashed aliens they became allies and used
her ship for shelter. During their stay on the planet, the alien
fell in love with Tuvok, but he was unable to return her affection because
Vulcans are trained to hide their emotions. After several months
of being stranded on the planet, they received a message from Voyager stating
that there was a temporal differential between the Voyager and the pocket
of subspace the team was trapped in. After some calculations they
established a meeting point and were beamed out, just before another alien
race collapsed the singularity.
This episode had some rather slow parts but was overall an enjoyable episode which mainly focused on Tuvok's character and well as some flash backs to Tuvok's childhood when he accepted and showed emotion. Review by: Andrew Luby
