In this episode, the Doctor, while running scans on the entire crew, discovered that he had operated on Ensign Kim eighteen months ago, but both he and Kim did not remember the operation.  When Seven of Nine (who was not on Voyager eighteen months ago) agreed to help the Doctor discover what happened, the Doctor loosed 24 hours worth of memories.  Eventually the Doctor set a camera up in sickbay and caught Captain Janeway deleting his memories.
After help from Seven of Nine, Janeway decided to tell the Doctor what happened eighteen months ago.  When the Doctor discovered that he chose to save Harry Kim over another patient with an equal chance of survival, he realized that his decision was based on friendship.  The Doctor entered another feedback loop and could not stop thinking about his decision repeating what happened eighteen months ago.  But this time Janeway allowed him to live out the malfunction instead of covering it up.  In the end we saw the Doctor start down the road of recovery when he picked up a book of poetry and started reading.
This episode was both entertaining and exciting.  I really enjoyed it.  But one thing that I found difficult to accept was that the Doctor's program would be advanced enough to cause the malfunction and then to fix it using human methods.  I actually began to forget that the Doctor is a computer.

I enjoyed this episode, though predictable that Janeway was the one deleting the Doctor's memories, it wasn't until the end that I figured out why.

I did enjoy this episode quite a bit.  I thought it was very interesting.  I especially enjoyed how the captain let the doctor deal with his problem.  I am however getting tired of ethical debates.  Especially since there was that episode with the Cardassian doctor in it just a few episodes back.

Carl's Rating: 9.1
It is very nice to see Star Trek episodes that are more than just special effects.  This episode delivered a lot more than the standard kind.  It kept me waiting to see what happened, and I actually cared.  Of course, special effects are always nice, however I do like an episode that has heart and that keeps you interested throughout the duration.
