Chief O'Brien departs to New Sydney in search of Bibly's widow, who he lost contact with.  Bibly was a member of the Orion Syndicate who O'Brien befriended when he was undercover in the episode "Honor Among Thieves".  O'Brien was forced to betray his friend, who died as a consequence.  When searching for Bibly's widow, O'Brien disappeared and Captain Sisko sent Lt. Ezri Dax to New Sydney because her family owned a very large mining operation in that system.  He hoped that she would be able to find O'Brien and when she did, O'Brien informed her that Bibly's widow was dead, killed by the Orion Syndicate.  But there was no proof to support that accusation.  Later, O'Brien discovered that Ezri's brother hired the Orion Syndicate to help their mining operation during bad times, and in return he was suppose to give Bibly's widow a regular salary.  But she continually wanted a higher salary and eventually she was killed by Ezri's other brother.
This episode was not what I expected, it was a follow-up to the episode "Honor Among Thieves", but I enjoyed "Honor Among Thieves" a lot more.  I was expecting this episode to deal more with O'Brien and the Syndicate and not Ezri and her family.  It was a well written episode, and one the better low budget episodes.  Overall, it could have been a lot better and a lot more exciting, and if this had been another time (and not the last season of Deep Space Nine) this episode would have been very welcome.  This episode did have a lot of Ezri character development, and detailed look at the life of her family.
